Comix Influx Blog: The Influx Starts...
This has been a great couple of days for Comix Influx. We have our first book contributed from someone not involved in building the site, and a whole bunch of new users.
The new book is L’Autoroute du Soleil by Baru, which was published by Casterman over 10 years ago. And it’s huge! The translation isn’t even complete and it weighs in at over 270 pages! The original was more than 430 pages. However it was then republished in two volumes, and the translation on this site covers a bit more than the first volume. If I can find out exactly where that volume ends I might well split the translation into two parts, so that people can see that they can get a complete translation for that. The translation was contributed by Keith Logan, so massive thanks to him.
We have also had a few new users sign up, which is great. I’ve had a few comments on various bits of the site (the user settings and the like could do with some tweaking), so have a few things to address as soon as I get a chance.
And Ellen has been really enjoying the latest Dominique Goblet book, faire semblant c’est mentir, and is doing a fantastic job of translating it. Goblet’s book is deservedly nominated for a Prix d’Angoulême. The winners will be announced later this month at the Angoulême Festival and I really hope she’s awarded a prize. While Goblet is not terribly prolific, her books are just beautiful. As far as I know she has mostly published with Frémok (Fréon as was) and now with L’Association. I’m really looking forward to this translation being completed.
